Term two went by so fast! And it's a few weeks till spring break! I love breaks, because I feel refreshed and back on track after a break is over... that is if there isn't any huge project due by the end of it...

Today we went to my cousin's house to check up on my grandma who had a little fall in the bathroom, but shes okay now. I went down stairs to play ping pong with my cousin (they have a ping pong table in their basement), and I have to say I improved a lot ^-^ I've only played a few times in my life and now I can smash =D Except when I was practicing smashing I think I used too much force and cracked one of the balls a little '''>.>..............

I have to say today was the most productive saturday I've had in a while. I've always found saturday to relax and read, but today I decided to do homework for once =D Maybe I'll get to sleep earlier on sunday now.

This is a continuation of the thoughts on the movie with no characters or dialogue. (I don't recall the name of the movie...)

The movie had no plot, specific characters, and no words at all. In the beginning I was really confused as to what was going on and it made no sense to me. But as we got farther in to the movie it started to make some sense, because I started to see how each scene was related, so I guess I put parts of the movie together to make common themes. So in the movie, first there were scenes of nature and everything was peaceful. Then the scenes get busier and busier until it showed streets and buildings crowded hundreds or thousands of tiny cars and humans, moving so fast they look like ants. I actually kind of like this movie, because it can be interpreted in many different ways as to what it meant because there is nothing in the movie that tells you exactly what this movie is about. When people are not told what to think they let their imaginations run, and it really gets people thinking about it even way after the movie is over.

I was wondering... do we have to blog about that movie we saw? Like the one with no words? Well I guess I should...

The movie first showed all kinds of beautiful scenery and ended with oceans of people and cars. I think this movie showed the evolution of people's lives. And in the end, people just went about their daily business with out interacting or acknowledging one another at all, where as in the beginning everything was peaceful, which I guess symbolizes people actually had time to enjoy these beautiful things. People are too much in a rush these days to remember to enjoy life and make time to love those around you.

My friend finally remembered to bring me the third book of the Hunger Games! I started reading it but didn't get very far because I remembered I still had a tuque and a half to go before I reach five -___-'

Hehehe... he... I guess I didn't succeed at getting up and jogging this morning... I didn't have the will power to go outside in the freezing cold and darkness at 6:30 in the morning to run in the woods around langara golf course... which kind of makes the darkness even scarier. Even my mom sympathized with me and told me to go back to sleep =] Maybe I'll try this jogging thing again near the summer...

I've decided! I'm going to jog around langara in the mornings on day 1s (when I don't have PE) starting tomorrow because my mom keeps on saying I'm getting fat because I'm nearing a hundred pounds... but I think she means I'm getting unfit. I'll have to wake up super early especially because I'm going to school early anyways tomorrow, so I'm going to sleep now...

We went to a friend's house to eat dinner today, and my friend, who is a grade seven that tested for synergy, didn't get first offer and she was so disappointed. I was quite supprised too cuz according to her parents she gets straight A's and a 95% average in everything o.o Her dad was pretty disappointed too... asian parents.

Wow I can't believe I finished the entire book Catching Fire in one and a half days! I was knitting while reading today. A hard cover book is really handy when you don't have two hands to hold it open. Now I want the third book... baaad

You know? I'm starting to like volleyball. I have been under the impression I'm pretty bad in volley ball since I knew volley ball, but I find it to be fun now =D!

I can't find my French text book! Well it's a no big deal right now because I can borrow from people, but what about the end of the year? I'll have nothing to hand in! I'll have to pay for it! I can't find it at home nor at school. Maybe I should go around asking teachers if they'd seen it...

Ok now I'm going to blog about Space Odessey. Even though we watched the explanation of it, I only understood a little about the explanation so most of this is what I got from the movie

So the music that constantly appears throughout the movie symbolizes the unknown and possibly something is about to happen? Or maybe it symbolizes the time in between each stage of evolution.
The face of "Jesus" was on a machine. Jesus was a savior that people believed in since centuries ago. The fact that Jesus' face appeared on this machine probably symbolized that human's were starting from the beginning again, but in space. In the explanation, it said that in space, human's are like fish out of water, and have to learn everything from the start.
The obelisk that appeared in the beginning with the apes, and at the end in that room symbolized that there were extraterrestrial life out there, and humans weren't alone.

The reason I took so long to understand this movie, was most likely because I'm used to movies with characters with personalities, and a story line, and also with much more dialogue. I've come to like this movie after the explanations because I realized this movie was so much more meaningful than most of the other movies I've watched


Also... I'm not sure how or what to do for the character thing...

I honestly don't know how Christ and the Space Odyssey are related... I'm pretty sure I tried hard to understand the movie and not make a mistake in knitting at the same time but I still don't have a really vague idea of what the movie is about. I just know there were monkeys, and then there was a bunch of people on a jupiter mission. Then the Christ face appeared but I don't know why, and I didn't even see a Mary carrying Christ in her arms... But I swear I was trying to pay attention!

I started stretching again. I haven't stretched since I quit ballet last December, and now I feel so stiff =[ I couldn't properly stretch in gymnastics either because people called me weird and abnormal -___- To think I used to be able to do over splits just over a year ago when I still skated.

Still so tired from the day I stayed up till three (science fair)...

Today we had a math contest. I almost didn't make it into the caf to take to test... == I didn't know we had to come before the bell rang, and so me and along with a few other people were locked outside but we were let in still. Good thing they didn't start yet, just finished giving instructions. The contest was really hard =[ I think I'll be lucky if I get half the questions right.

Finally science fair is done and over with! Now I have to worry about my other projects, but at least we got this one out of the way! I think I did better on this science fair project than my last year one. I didn't even know what was expected out of the project, so I did pretty bad. Hopefully I improved.

I went to the One Acts today, and it was hilarious! Especially the drunk girl in the last one. She said the funniest puns. Me and my friends were laughing our heads off.

But because I went now I have to stay up doing theory homework. Tomorrow I have to wake up early to practice violin. But I guess it's worth it =] I had a lot of fun.

I had so much trouble trying to deal with microsoft exel today -__-. I was trying to create graphs for science fair, but the numbering on the side and the labelling and stuff just didn't work out and I was soo frustrated... until my dad helped me. Now it's better but the graph still doesn't look very professional =/ Now I'm debating whether to go to One Acts or not.

My family and my uncle's family and another family are over at my house celebrating chinese new year! I wanna stay up till 12 am today, but I don't think I can. I'm probably not going to do anything tonight but to relax =D
